With our club becoming more and more expensive to run, and with costs increasing considerably over the past couple of years, our funds are depleted. The success on the field during the past season was considerable, with seniors and juniors all performing admirably. This, along with the forming of our enthusiastic Women and Girls section, has put us in a great position to move forwards.

We plan to involve everyone in the club in a bowling marathon, the equivalent of GCC to Lords cricket ground in London, 91.3 miles or 7304 balls in the nets. All players, willing volunteers and supporters are asked to take part by attracting sponsorship throughout the winter and taking part on the day.

At the same time 3 hardy members, Tommy Allatt, Steve Baker and Steve Williams will be riding their cycles from Lords back to Goatacre, who will finish first, the Bowlers or the Riders?!

The person attracting the most sponsorship will win 2 tickets to a major cricket match in 2026. We will hold a monthly update to find the person with the most sponsorship.

On the day we will have refreshments, bar and barbecue, lets make it a fantastic opening to the 2026 season, with everyone getting together at the same time and having a great club event.
